Our History
Our founder, Brittany Wilson, worked as a career coach and provided outplacement services as her full-time job, and in 2021, she started Career Candor as a side hustle.
In 2023, Brittany Wilson faced a pivotal moment: she was laid off from her Fortune 500 job. Alongside her severance package, she was offered outplacement services—a benefit she was eager to experience as a career coach herself. But the reality was disappointing. Her career coach was out of touch, the job search trainings were nothing more than sales tactics, and the price tag was staggering—far beyond what small and mid-sized businesses could realistically afford.
She thought to herself, I can do this a whole lot better for a whole lot less.
Brittany’s own career path had already given her unique insight into these challenges. She spent years in the career development department of a Fortune 500 company, often serving as internal outplacement support, and since 2021, she had been running a successful side business as a coach.
That's when Career Candor took off.
Brittany founded the company with a mission to make outplacement and coaching services accessible and impactful for small and mid-sized businesses. Her approach focuses on delivering compassionate, actionable, and credible support to employees while helping businesses protect their reputations and return to growth.
Brittany believes that navigating the workplace doesn’t have to be an overwhelming or impersonal process. With affordable, tailored services, Career Candor helps businesses care for their employees and build goodwill for the future.
If your business is preparing for layoffs or wants to invest in its employees, Career Candor is here to help.
